Fate Awaits Broomfield Event Center

Four bid to manage Broomfield Event Center is a story at the Daily Camera about the eventual fate of the facility. The good news I see in the article is that at least three of the bids are from companies that already run arenas with hockey in them. Hopefully this is a sign that the bidders are anxious to preserve the Rocky Mountain Rage as an anchor to the facilities attractions.

The rumor mill says that the 14ers are already on the way out, we shall see.

Another good sign is that billionaire Denver resident Philip Anschutz's company is in the bidding process. AEG Live runs the Bluebird and Ogden theaters locally and would presumably have a leg up on booking the musical acts that so far, has eluded the current owners.

More good news on the hockey front for the BEC is the formation of a Tier I hockey program that will be based at the Event Center. Read more about that over at Colorado Hockey Insider.
